Bob's Red Mill Baking Soda


Baking Soda is plain bicarbonate of soda, a top quality leavening agent, used in combination with acidic ingredients for baking. Our pure baking soda is made from the deposits of mineralized sodium bicarbonate. It is extracted by a simple water process that uses no chemicals. And like all of our gluten free products, it is produced in our 100% gluten free facility and subject to ELISA batch testing to ensure its purity.

When using baking soda in combination with acidic ingredients, such as buttermilk, molasses, cocoa or yogurt, it releases carbon dioxide that causes the batter or dough to rise.     This gluten free product was handled exclusively in our dedicated gluten free facility and tested for gluten free integrity in our quality control laboratory using an ELISA Gluten Assay test.

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • 2. In a large bowl, combine the egg, molassas, maple syrup, stevia, and almond butter. Add the apple sauce to this mixture and stir until incorporated.
  • 3. Add the almond flour, coconut flour, ginger and cinnamon to the bowl and stir until combined.
  • 4. Add the baking powder and baking soda. Stir well.
  • 5. Place a sheet of parchment paper on a cookie sheet and spray with non-stick spray.
  • 6. Using a tablespoon sprayed with non-stick spray portion out the cookies (should make 14-16).
  • 7. Bake at 350°F for 11-13 minutes.
