Methyl B12 Sublingual with Folic Acid

Methyl B12, like other B vitamins, is a water-soluble vitamin. Methyl B12 functions as a co-enzyme and is involved in the synthesis of the essential amino acid methionine. In the body, Vitamin B12 is used in the regulation and the formation of red blood cells and helps in the utilization of iron and has been shown to assist in lowering homocysteine levels. It helps convert carbohydrates into fat and must be available in the system as it is involved in red blood cell formation. Deficiency is usually due to a problem in absorption rather than diet. Vitamin B12 is absent from most fruits, vegetables and grains. Vegetarians are more susceptible to deficiency. This is caused by a lack of‚ intrinsic factors,‚ a substance secreted by the stomach. Folic acid plays an essential role in the synthesis of DNA and RNA and is also key in the formation of red blood cells, protein metabolism, reproduction and growth.

Directions: Adults, take one tablet daily or as directed by a healthcare practitioner. Allow to dissolve under tongue.

Trophic Methyl B12 with Folic Acid dissolve under the tongue which is necessary as we cannot digest it well as we get older. It helps to keep our brain healthy.

I’ll be returning it

I had asked my husband to pick up the Organika B12 supplement from the Lonsdale store, unfortunately they were out of it and suggested the Trophic Methyl B12 (more pills and cheaper price) however “more and cheaper” doesn’t necessarily mean better. In this case the ingredient Cyanocobalamin is an important ingredient in Organika’s product and not in Trophic’s (my husband was not aware of this). Being vegan I have done an extensive study of B12 and felt Organika met my needs. I’ll be returning the Tropic the next time I’m in North Vancouver.

Takes a while to dissolve

Ok, not as sweet as others, and takes a while to dissolve under your tongue.

My favorite

This brand is the best B12 for the price. Taste and texture are great, absorbs excellent. My least favorite brand of sublingual B12 is Natural Factors in the pink box.
