Organic Traditions Sprouted Quinoa

Quinoa is one of nature's most nourishing superfoods. Sprouted Quinoa from Organic Traditions requires no washing, rinsing or soaking. Sprouting unlocks nutrition in the seed, increasing vitamins, minerals and enzymes, as well as decreasing phytic acid and enzyme inhibitors present in the raw seed. Low temperature air-drying ensures that the vital enzymes and nutrients stay intact. This delicately nutty seed cooks within 10 minutes, and makes a great alternative to oatmeal and other morning cereals. It's very versatile--give it a try!

Benefits:

  • Provides 7 grams of protein per serving
  • No washing or soaking required
  • Source of fibre
  • Gluten free

Directions: 1:1 quinoa to water. Boil water. Add quinoa. Reduce & simmer for 10 minutes.

SPROUTED QUINOA MISO SOUP

  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of Organic Traditions Sprouted Quinoa
  • 1 tablespoon of Miso paste (use more or less depending on how strong you like your miso soup)
  • 2 tsp. of Organic Traditions Raw Coconut Oil
  • 1 tbsp. of Organic Traditions Sprouted Chia
  • Garlic Powder (or 1 small clove of minced garlic for a stronger garlic taste)
  • Fresh Cilantro

Optional:
Your choice of fresh vegetables (grated carrot, chopped bokchoy, diced red pepper, etc.)

DIRECTIONS

Boil one cup of water. Add one cup of Organic Traditions Sprouted Quinoa. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. There is no prewashing, rinsing or soaking required. Set the quinoa aside and prepare the miso soup. Use 8-12 oz. of warm water (not boiling) for one portion of miso soup. Vigorously whisk in the miso paste until well incorporated. More water will dilute the strong taste of the miso. I prefer a stronger Miso taste and so use 6-8 oz. of water. Add coconut oil, sprouted chia or flax powder, garlic and cilantro. Add
2-4 tablespoons of cooked sprouted quinoa to the miso broth. Add any fresh or steamed vegetables of your choice. Save the rest of the sprouted quinoa for other dishes.

1:1 quinoa to water. Boil water. Add quinoa. Reduce & simmer for 10 minutes.
